José Colón

José Colón is Vice President - Investment Sales at Jameson Commercial Realty Group.  As a licensed real estate broker, Jose’ is focused on both the sales and leasing within the commercial real estate investment market.  This includes the same multi-family and mixed-use property types conducive to Housing Plus projects, as well as industrial properties.

 

As such, José brings the much needed private real estate investor perspective as well as an active rolodex of potential Housing Plus participating owners and donors to the NFP Housing Plus Corporation.  

 

José is recognized among Jameson’s “Top Producer” group.  His diverse experience and back ground is beneficial in servicing both local investors and national clients.

 

Prior to joining Jameson, José was Director - Latin America in the Real Estate Auction Division at the Sheldon Good & Company, where he expanded the company’s reach by opening its first office outside the US in Monterrey, Mexico.  José serviced clients throughout the US, Mexico and the Caribbean and marketed all asset groups.

 

Before joining the Auction Division, José was consistently a Top Producer in Sheldon Good and Company’s Commercial Brokerage Sales Division, focusing on multi-family, retail leasing and investment sales. He was awarded “Rookie of the Year” honors by the Chicago Association of Realtors Commercial Forum.

 

Mr. Colón is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM).  He has served as Chairman for CIREC (Chicago International Real Estate Council).   

 

José served on the Board of Directors for the Chicago Association of Realtors, and as Vice-Chairman for CAR Commercial Forum. 

 

José is also a past member of the National Board of Directors for NAHREP (National Association of Real Estate Professionals), and was President of the local chapter in 2006.

 

José currently serves on the development committee for BAPA, in Chicago’s

Beverly neighborhood, and TRP, which services the Pilsen and Little Village neighborhoods in Chicago.  Civically, he is Board Member for Friends of the Forest Preserve and Cristo Rey HS.
